The WDFW has announced that the "Free Fishing Weekend" is scheduled for June 8-9. During those two days, no license will be required to fish or gather shellfish in any waters open to fishing in Washington State.
Anglers who take part in the free fishing weekend can also participate in the WDFW 2019 Trout Fishing Derby. For details check online: https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/Home/FishingDerby
Anglers will not need a Two Pole Endorsement to fish with two poles. Also no vehicle access pass or Discover Pass will be required to park at water-access sites maintained by WDFW or Washington State Parks during the free weekend.

While no license is required on Free Fishing Weekend, other rules such as size limits, bag limits, catch record card requirements and area closures still apply.
